Does Tom Brady get preferential treatment from officials?

Flacco got hit by two Patriots AFTER the ball was gone. No flag there!
The NFL is becoming more about the business and less about the game. No one wants to see the "stars" get hurt, but we can't sell out the game to protect the stars. If we do, what game do we have left?
Brady says he's sitting there defenseless and unprotected?
Isn't that why they pay 5 easily over 300 pound each men for?

Brady is a diva, and he does get better attention because of his pretty boy status. As far as I know, Brady is the only person complaining or actively taking advantage of the "Brady Rule", very nicely labeled might I add, you know your an @!$%# when your face mask gets brushed and you go down and laugh when they award you the free yardage.
It's not a matter of the ball being thrown or not it's a matter of where he got hit, unless there was enough time for the defender to stop. The two hits on Brady that were called roughing the passer were to the head and lightly to the knees. Flacco was hit below the shoulders and above the waist were it's allowed. Accept for the time he was obviously hit in the face and the refs correctly called it.
What I think is being missed is the fact that SUGGS went after his knees. When you watch the replay (I did at full speed and slow mo) SUGGS disengages from KOPPEN (Pats Center) and takes off for 3 full steps - on the 3rd one (NOT TOUCHED OR TRIPPED) SUGGS starts to head down he then takes a 4th step and heads right at BRADY's knees. Brady known for his pocket presense feels SUGGS and he steps back with his right leg and jumps off the left to avoid contact.
Had BRADY not sensed SUGGS we might be talking about BRADY having a blownout RIGHT KNEE - last year was his left knee.
IMO - SUGGS should be fined for intentionally going low and trying to injure BRADY.
If BRADY had scrambled at the moment SUGGS seperated from KOPPEN - there is NO DOUBT that SUGGS would have caught BRADY and had himself a sack - IT IS OBVIOUS ON TAPE !

ALL PLAYERS NEED TO BE PROTECTED - the head shot penalty's well - it's the rule - but it's a little suspect.
I have stopped watching the NBA because the rules don't apply to the "stars". The game is a joke. It looks like the NFL is coming to have the same problem. Don't breathe on certain players or you'll get a flag. I am NO Ravens fan, but maybe the one player has an idea - if you aren't going to treat the QB like a football player and let us hit him, make the QB a 2-handed touch to stop the play. Then you won't get the preferential treatment and babies like Brady crying for flags. It's pretty bad when you have retired QB's saying that the current batch of QB's should be wearing dresses - they don't even have the respect of their predecessors.
If they don't want to get hit they should play soccer or some other pussy sport

This is why I can't stand watching the NBA anymore - the rules don't apply to the "stars". The NFL is getting just as bad. There are different standards for "special" players. If they don't want to get hit, stop playing the game. It is football, after all! I am NO fan of the Ravens, but one of their players had an idea - the QB - ALL QB's are down with a 2-handed touch. If the babies like Brady want to cry over some contact, that would end it. It's pretty bad when the retired QB's start agreeing and saying that the current QB's should be wearing dresses. Not all of them are that bad, but the babies like Brady are giving the position a bad name.
I don't see how you can really post this question after one call. Is that really enough data to confirm the statement? Bad calls even out. New England had two questionable (one was a terrible call) roughing the passer calls in the Buffalo game earlier this year.
The Suggs call was a bad call but is that Brady's fault? The Ravens should focus more on the dude not catching the pass on the last play of the game.
While it is true the league has more rules in place protecting quarterbacks, it is also true that the rules favor offenses; and calls are made accordingly. But the question was whether or not "Tom Brady" recieves preferential treatment from officials. The answer to that is a resounding NO.
thats not entirely true. after one of those late hits, brady quickly turned around to the ref and basically whined for a flag at which point the ref threw one. i know that most players will do that, but if you watch it you can see that the ref seemed to be of the mind set that no penalty occurred and wasnt going to throw a flag until brady started crying about it

Those must have been the same officials that oversaw the Rams vs. Patriots Superbowl where Kurt Warner was pummeled by the Patriots defense and Brady was given a pass. Oh but wait, that is also the game where the Patriots had illegal practice tapes of the Rams so that is the reason the were so effective on defense. The who team is a bunch of cheaters behind a cheater coach, they should be called the Traitors.

1) The NFL loves the Patriots more than any other team in the league. 2) Goodell treasures Tom Brady above all else. He told me so.
3) All the other teams KNOW they will NEVER get fair officiating when playing against the Patriots. Its a huge conspiracy to ruin the NFL while putting the Pats on a pedestal.
4) If we can't cheat to win, the NFL will hand us the 2010 Championship. It's our inevitable destiny.
5) Stop the sniveling and whinning and come to grips with that.
6) No one else has a chance in this league as long as there is a team in New England while Billy B. is coaching it and Tom B. is QB.
Repeat that 100 times while spinning on your right foot with your head tilted back and your left index finger on your nose. You'll end up in the right place.
He reminded me of an NBA player when they are on the recieving end of a phantom foul. They have that rediculous smile that speaks volumes. "I know I wasn't fouled, but I'm going to take the free throws anyway." Come on Brady, be a man and stop justifying the gifts you're recieving from the zebras. I know you don't have a choice to turn them away on the field, but you don't have to agree with them. Stop being a baby and embarassing yourself.

please people you are so stupid, how many games have you watched to come to that conclusion? How many plays have you seen, because one sore loser states something it's a fact, Watch the games and then state what you think.
If they are following the rules then the hits on Flaco were definitely overlooked. And yes, Brady needs to suck it up and play football. Neither of the calls were anything near roughing the passer.
It's not just Brady though, it's the quarterback position as a whole that gets preferential treatment. 250, 300, 350 pound men are expected to bend the laws of physics and somehow stop their momentum, often in mid-air, in a fraction of a second. The NFL can try to regulate it all they want, but physics always wins. If they want to protect them to that extent then make it touch or flag football.
I agree with you, except that the new rule was only put in place after Brady was hurt. Plenty of quarterbacks throughout the years have suffered the same type of injury, but no new rule was put in place until it happened to Brady. See the following link for just a few examples:

Why wait until Brady is hurt to make this rule? Because the NFL protects him more than any other QB in the league. Why else would they destroy the tapes the Patriots had?
Brady says that quarterbacks are unprotected??? Thats a joke! Quarterbacks have at least 6 people whose sole purpose in the game is to protect the quarterback. There aren't many other players on a team that can say that.
Agree with Hot-Dog, QB's in general get preferential treatment vs any other position. Definitely not just Brady. Peyton, Roethlisberger, etc all have had calls that are complained about by opposing teams.lol
What about that late-hit against McNabb that took him out for several games? Some preferential treatment there (no call either)...
Don't throw Peyton in there with Brady... They don't get that close to him very often, and he doesn't whine about getting hit. He KNOWS he is a football player.
I agree with you Bruce. Peyton will get rid of the ball pretty quickly. He doesn't complain when he does get hit, which is not often. They want their glory boy Brady to be around awhile. Then maybe he should be in the stands or on the couch. Let's get back to real football. The days of the Black and Blue league. This is not tiddly winks or checkers, it's football where people get knocked on their butts and the ref just says "get up"!!!
Are you seriously throwing Roethlisberger in this list? The man lives by getting hit and still keeping the play alive. If he was getting these kind of calls it would be 10-15 roughing the passer calls in the Steelers favor every game. Some players are in the pocket and draw the call by looking helpless, some scramble and stiff-arm and don't get the officials worried that they are going to get hurt.
Donovan McNabb was DRILL in the Endzone, while lying on his side ... no call from the Refs.
He's still not back! Only certain QBs are getting this so-called "preferential treatment," that's for sure.

You had to see the game to appreciate the fact that the refs were a farce. Brady is a wus and a crybaby. The Ravens QB got clobered 5x without any officials call. There was a holding by the patriots on at least 8x that should have been caught. The top offical should review the film and fire the damn refs!
