The Pens have a young and cocky team. Defending their championship is harder than winning it. Everyone is out to take it away so it puts a lot of pressure on a team that is young to defend it all year long. With young egos that constant pressure to defend their cup will take it's toll by the playoffs. Detroit has a seasoned team that basically lost Stanly by a point or two. They're lying low until the new guys are broken in and steadily pace themselves to playoff. They're the team with the least amount of pressure, they're a proven team and they don't have a championship to defend. While everyone else is chipping away at the Pens, the Wings will move in when no one is expecting them to while eveyone else is distracting the Pens. Guarantee the Wings won't come home without Stanley again!
Well I'm pulling for my Flames. But honestly at this point in the year and in a league with a pile of strong teams I would say take a coin toss on the top third.
Sabres are coming together, if they stay healthy and Miller keeps playing the way he is it will not be an easy road but this could be the Sabres year...GO BUFFALO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Penguins all the way baby!!! They have the talent, the heart & the drive. Besides, they got to make up for the Steelers lousy seaon this year! Hey, Pittsburgh needs to have at least 1 winning team! GO PENS!!!
Doubt the Wings can pull it off with all their injuries etc. Would like to see NJ do it again - but whomever wins let's hope it is NOT the Pittsburgh Pengoons. The thought of the NHL moving that way is scary. The NHL had class when dominated by Detroit, Colo, NJ and even Dallas.
If Cyndy Crosby is the face the future NHL this sport is in trouble; have you seen pictures of that wimp with his shirt off ?? My 13 yr old is more muscular than him! I doubt he could lift the SC with the help of 2 teammates.
the n.j. devils in 2010. forget about the penbums, devils have beaten them all 4 games so far this season with 2 shutouts. 14 goals for the devils, 2 goals for the penbums in 4 games.
Blackhawks will win if...... they stay healthy, the only kink in their game is goaltending.
Playoff hockey is much different then the regular season. Huet has washed out of two systems before coming to the Hawks. Neither goalie is finals tested. Sometime you need to lose in the finals to see what it takes to win it all ! Ask the Pens, they lost one before they got all the pieces in place for the long haul. Go Hawks !
A lot of these comments make me laugh, just how serious some people are about a sport. I'm from Pittsburgh (with an H, by the way) a great Pens and Steelers fan but if either of those teams never won another game, life would still go on...for me. I don't think the same can be said about some of you out there. (Here comes the banal drivel from them...)
ok then scum bags, the penbums will not dissappoint you when they lose in the first round. being from pittsburgh, you knoW your team NEVER HAS HAD any depth since 1992.how they win on a shoestring and a prayer is beyond belief. 2 or 3 guys do not make a team. last year was a total fluke and should be dissmissed as nonsense.
I rest my case, jack (& you note I didn't go sophomoric with your name like you did with mine). you don't know me from adam yet you chose to insult me, all in the name of hockey and good sportsmanship. Rah, rah jack. Yuda man.
Is there any team in the league that gets less respect than the Buffalo Sabres? No one man show, balance throughout the line up and possibly the league's best goalie. They have as good a chance as any team.

Lotta jealous haters but the Pens are wiping the floor with just about everyone! See ya in the finals....but probably not YOUR team! hahahhahaahahaa
Kings will take it all this year, in 6....no question
Kings will take the cup in 6, no question about it

How about some Buffalo Sabre love. Best goalie in NHL, Going to be a major player as a sleeper.
Remember it's 2 season's... reg and playoff. The Wings rock in the second season!!GO WINGS!!!

Another weak showing by the time it's all said and done.

Sorry i typed smith but meant Howard...I didnt think he would be a good backup
and as I watched this season progress--he looks better all the time.

Talk about a lack of class- Malkin is worse then Crosby- absolutely no class.
Sorry penguin fans...These guys are great players but have no class. Malkin is
a criminal in my opinion. So i really hope Pens don't repeat for this reason.
