objectivity...rare around here.  they won the championship, return almost all starters, haven't lost so why wouldn't they be number 1.  if and when they lose that will change but until then the chatter is mostly a reflection of ignorance. 

How can they lose to Division 2 teams? Florida needs to get a schedule that warrants #1 ranking. Any team could be #1 with their schedule.

As a UF fan, I can say I believe that the hit was clean. The damage came from when his neck snapped back after being pushed into his own player. A clean hit is a clean hit. If he did not his his own player, the hit itself would not even be a question. So good for the UK player who earned a well deserved clean blind side sack. As a gator fan, shame on any other gator fan for saying the hit was dirty.

On the other hand, I hope he recovers quickly. He has a mission to complete for his team (and himself). If I know Tebow, the way I think I do, he will put his health behind the needs of the team. Not the smartest move, but a well respected move of a motivated and caring player. Run Tebow Run.....

I'm a UF fan and that looked like a clean hit. You should be more upset with either the Offensive lineman who missed his job, the coach for calling that play or Urban for keeping Tebow in that long when he was already ill and the game was won.

The hit was clean. Nobody should by upset that the defender celebrated or that Tebow was still in the game. Its football! Sometimes people get hurt. As far as the Gators never playing anybody... Well, they played a couple of National Championship games in the past 3 years (media said Buckeyes were unstopable, Sooners had the most pionts ever last year.) Thats not good enough? How about Alabama in the SEC Championship game last year? Most schools schedule creampuffs for the first couple weeks. Unless they are the creampuffs...

I wouldn't go that far, Ed seems to know a little about College Ball, I agree with his statement about Boise state. I don't know what it is about that school (I used to live there) whether its the blue turf, or something in the water, but that school has become the "I think I can school" and has thought its way to bowl victories and a deserved top ten ranking. That being said, I'm afraid that USC seems to be having a down year, the close game to an overated Ohio State (I'm actually a big ten fan, and a Michigan alum so buckeye fans, boo me if ya want, just callin it the way I see it.)

I think Oklahoma and Texas will both be shown to be pretenders, USC has already had that rude awakening, and I think LSU will also have some trouble later in the season. Florida as number 1? With Tebow, probably..without him...they are ordinary. Tennessee showed us that. Leaving Bama, yes, their offense is somewhat anemic, but as Iowa proved yesterday to Penn st. If your gonna contend for titles, ya better have a darn good defense, and a steady offense, Bama has those things. Florida's D hasn't really been tested yet, nor has Texas or Oklahoma. They scheduled cream puffs, and the truly hard tests are yet to come. Some may argue that Texas Tech was a tough game...Not really, they are young, and rebuilding..so..not so much. As a Wolverine Fan, I"m excited about my teams chances this year, no, I do not think they'll finish in the top ten, but top 25 is a good place to start for a mostly freshman/sophomore team. Notre Dame is still getting votes to be put into the top 25. One Question..why? They've struggled against two ..actually 3 teams they would've beat if one believes the pre season hype. They haven't done that...they are 3-1, but 3 drives are the whole difference in that record. Michigan state and Purdue almost pulled upsets, that streak has to stop for them to be considered top 25 material. Just my two cents.. Go Blue!

Mike, I am not a UF fan, however, anyone who doesn't Tebow his due is a moron. Tebow is awesome. I saw him play last year in the bowl game. He is an alien - definitely not human. Tebow is UF football.

Almost winning counts if you are Notre Dame or on the schedule of a team whose fans want to rationalize their team's schedule. Boise St is doing ok. I don't think that they could survive in the SEC.

Way deeper. I kinda hope to see what Brantley can do with a start. If he can perform up to his potentual in Tiger Stadium the Gators will be set for the remainder of the season.
