Let's not get the anointing oils out just yet. I'm a long suffering Jet fan. We've seen the Jets play well before only to blow games against weaker teams. That being said, it was nice to finally beat the Pats & Bellichoke at home.
I dont think Jets are the team to beat so far. I think people are jumping on the Jets wagon too soon. Yes they beat the Pats and yes their D was good but the pats were couple of drops from winning. If Galloway made his catches instead of dropping, if Edelman made that sure TD pass then Pats wouldve won. I think Patriot's bad O contributed to it more than Jet's D. Jet's D got 0 sacks and 1 INT - not that dominating. Sure Brady was hurried many times but the game was too close to be just called a dominating Jets win. If Jets created more turnovers and the score was more than a TD win then yeah Jets D had more of an impact. We should wait till Jets and Pats play the other AFC east teams to really rate them.
How many times do I have to say it. No pass rush to speak of, weak LB and Secondary, and number 72 at left tackle, all spell "no playoffs this year." And if Welker is a no-go they probably end up 3rd in the division, assuming Brady can stay healthy and avoid getting killed by the guys over Light. Does anybody grade the performance of this "pro-bowler?" The other teams probably vote for him so the Pats can't take him out of the line-up and they can get past him whenever they need to. Definitely a weak chance for playoffs this year.
The jets will win it all this year, how do i know this? the jets are not afraid to win or lose this year, they are coached by a man that for lack of a better word is real and real good at his job. Ive been a jet fan all my life and this is the first time I ever do you here me ever wrote about my team or had the balls to do so, there is nothing on the earth like a jet fan. Only a jet fan can understand that, the pain ohh the pain, However its a new day and jets fans stop thinking about the past and grow a pair. Lets stand behind or team win or lose. But like I said before we will win it ALL!!!!!!!!
I finally had a chance to look at a detailed box score, drive chart, etc. on the Jets game and see a few of the highlights on ESPN. I had to ask myself, how did the Pats lose this game. The Jets did nothing for most of the game. The stats for the first half were staggering in favor of the Pats, and the headline that the new rookie QB for the Jets "outplayed" Brady? Don't think so. I do feel that obtaining Galloway was a mistake. Another guy who was a 2nd banana WR at best on several teams before he came to end his career in Foxboro. Never been that high on him anywhere. And from just the highlights I have to wonder about the difference in throwing flags to protect the QB from ref to ref. Brady in this game, like in the SB loss to the G-men, got consistently hammered after he threw the ball. Yet I saw no yellow in the highlight shots, maybe there were some thrown before, but the charts didn't indicate so. I mean they let the Jets hammer him quite a bit. Now I like to let them play the game, but the inconsistent application of the protection rules is glaring. Inadvertently touch a QB's helmet with a hand trying to bat down a pass and one guy will throw a flag. Hammer the QB like the tackle did to Brady landing on him with 300 pounds in the preseason game, and they let it go. Oh, well. But back to the topic. Belichek has suddenly begun playing not to lose, rather than to win. Why does he punt when other teams would boot a 45-50 yard field goal? Never used to be that way. Got. is a great kicker, and it just seems to be that Bel. has lost faith in him. Their running game sucks and their play calling is worse. Will be interested to see if the Pats can win 9 now. Dolphins starting slow, but they have better tools than the Jets. I am going with the fish.
