oj, unitas, namath all stayed too long. just add favre to the list. childress is a bozo for disrupting his team half way thru pre-season. but it's what i expect from him. what was a superbowl year will end up a major disappointment.

You know, I'll amend my thoughts. I see the Vikings beating the Eagles in the NFC championship only to lose to the Bills in the Superbowl. There, the three dumbest teams in football today and two 4 time Superbowl losers playing against each other. The other Superbowl scenario I'd like is Manning Vs. Manning.

As any Jet fan how they will do...Farve's best years are long gone. He will start strong and his arm will fall off by the 11th game...they will miss the playoffs.

It would be a good pick up for the Vikes if Favre was in it for the right reasons. He will bring the Vikes down only because he wants to stick it to Green Bay not because he's a team player. In the end, it will bring down the Vikes. Hopefully, it won't take years to repair the damage.

I can understand why Brett doesn't want to retire. When you play as long as Brett has, it is hard to let go. He sees that record he has for games started and he doesn't want to have that stop. He is just like Cal Ripken when he was still playing after he broke Gerhig's record. He finally said enough is enough and retired. Brett has a record that might not be broken for a long time, but enough is enough. With Favre at the controls the Vikings might break even but that's about it. His legacy will be dropping with every loss, with ever interception, with every incomplete pass. Brett - enough is enough!!

I truly believe that Farve is one of the best quarterbacks the league has ever seen. I also believe that if he and the team can stay healthy they have as good as a chance to reach the NFC title and Super Bowl as any other team. The Vikings are good and Farve will make them great. I can't wait to watch them battle in the NFL.

As a Packers fan I LOVE that Favre is playing for the vikes... 2 more guaranteed wins for the season. Our defense will be up all over Favre and probably help into into his 3rd retirement early. Not to mention our DB's picking off and running back interception after interception. I predict a 50+ scoring game against the Vikings with Favre under center. GO FAVRE GO, HELP THE PACK into the superbowl. You see this is the whole plan, he is a secret Packers spy and will report back to us the goings on, he will also make sure the vikings with all their good players miss the playoffs for us. Wherever the Vikes end up at the end of the season, Brett won't be there. His "use by" date is midseason, when he usually gets injured. Worse yet are the years (see 2008) when he gets injured and doesn't stand down. He kills his own team after mid-November. And he's joining a team that's part armadillo (killed on the road) and milk-carton-picture friendly ("Have you seen this team?") by December anyway.

Postscript - And what did Childress just do to his relationships with T-Jack and Sage? They just got thrown under the bus and into the publicity tree chipper that is the Brett Favre show. Their trust in Childress is NEVER coming back. Either the Vikes make the SB or Childress is gone.....

The most selfish player in NFL history with a combonation and calamity of people at the top who act like BF is a GAWD! 1st of all it slaps the QBs already there in the face TWICE!!!! the 1st time they tried and waited like he owned the team and now this! the guy put them on hold while they waited then he tells them thanks but no thanks, them he says " I WANNA PLAY FO YOUS GUYS NOUN! and the guys at the top just jump on it even kept a helmet and jersey wainting just in case. Favre should retire and then invest in a razor...he looks like the village idiot. Growing tired of looking at him.

I think the Vikings will go deep into the playoffs but I feel Brett Farve will not be a factor. He should have stayed retired. The team is rebuilding just fine without him. Rosenfels looks good enough to lead a team with this kind of talent and again this team is going back and signing another "OLD" retired has been. I.E. Warren Moon, Jim McMahon, Fran Tarkenington, Gus Farough or however you spell it. Invest in the future. They should never have let go of Wade Wilson.
