All of you who say that Vick only is doing his part because of a judge or the money your right. But he is doing it and thats the Point!!! Like you who follow the law also because of reprecussions. Vick has paid what the law required and far beyond what was fair.
In the Bible animals were sacrficed repeatedly for sin. God says there are two abominations in his sight Homosexuality and Harming a Child of His thats it.
I have anger with only people who murder other Humans or who harm or sexualy abuse childeren thats it. Liars and thieves are a dime a dozen.
When Jesus compares a bird to Human he makes that proclimation that a human is worth more to GOD than animals.
We are Created in GODS Image not Animals!!!!! That is why Human life is valued Higher!!!!!
Pastor G, THAT is why I have a problem with the Bible thumpers. ALL life is sacred, not just ours. But as far as you are concerned it is no big deal. Maybe you'll be sitting next to Vick in the afterlife.
Wow! Are you really a pastor? I wouldn't even take my time to comment on this except I can't believe what I just read. I have anger for ANYONE who abuses or does intentional harm to children, the elderly, the physically or mentally impaired AND animals. They are the most defenseless and most vulnerable. Michael Vick did not sacrifice animals for sins. He murdered them for sport and profit. Maybe you have a newer version of the ten commandments than I do.
Everyone deserves a 2nd chance; even all you haters out there; he paid his debt to society, just put yourself in his place, if it were you, you would want a 2nd chance to reestablish yourself; so move on becuase it's clear that Vick has. ( LET'S GO VICK !!!)
You're absolutley hilarious....because if I were in his place, I'd wouldn't be as dispicable as to mutilate, torture and murder innocent animals.......he was so driven by money (which he had MORE than enough of) that he didn't care who or what was affected as long as he got his. I also noticed that throughout it all, he was only sorry when he got caught........well if he is such a good guy....he would have stopped it before that point.....i hope your family pet gets out one day and you have to wonder if Vick got his hands on it.
whats wrong with people... everyone deserves a 2nd chance; even you haters out there; Vick paid his debt to society over and above.... so get over it and move on.... becuase it is clear that Vick has... ( you haters must have missed the memo) everyone makes mistakes... when you make yours I'm sure that you would want a 2nd chance...
ok, so Mike ran and bankrolled an illegal gambling operation for seven years.
The NFL, and all other major sports leagues, are never going to give Las Vegas a franchise due to the fear of gamblers unduly influencing pro athletes.
The NFL is currently fighting the state of Deleware in court over Deleware allowing sports betting.
So, how can the commisioner of the NFL let a known gambler back into the NFL?
Does anyone else see a problem with this?
And the Eagles made a bad football decision. Vick was a bad QB 3 years ago when he was in football shape. How good could he possibly be after being out of the game this long?
Apparently morals and sports are no longer related in any way and the signing of Michael Vick to the Eagles today just proves that. I wonder how those people supporting the contract would feel if their children had witnessed these acts, or if one of the bait dogs had been the family pet?
It's a shame when money and winning has more importance than having compassion for life....no matter what the species.
So janice, according to you, he should never do anything ever again? Live in a cardboard box, eat ramen noodles? Will that make it ok? There is nothing he can do that will satisfy everyone, so he did what he was told, did his time, did everything that is/what asked of him, what more do you want....holier than thou people like you make life hard to live, find something new to harp on, please.
As an Eagles I'm excited and looking forward to Vick's contribution. Being a Philly native, I can imagine what kind of reception he'll receive - if he contributes and helps the team win, he'll be embraced (eventually). Any funny business off the field and they'll run him (and Andy Reid) out of town. And for all the haters who can't get over the Eagles signing him and vow not to attend any games - call me, I'll gladly take your tickets off your hands!
Oh My God! I've read some very stupid, almost idiotic comments here! Half of the people posting against Michael Vick's getting a second chance. will be begging and crying pleading to get their Job Back after serving their time, had they been in the same situation. Most of them are possibly deviants themselves hidding behind a keyboard on GodMode talking about. " I will not watch Football anymore STFU you whining Dog F***ing Imbeciles!
Vick made a mistake" I am sick of hearing that. Once or twice is a mistake. 7 YEARS OF TORTURING ANIMALS IS NOT A MISTAKE. That is getting closer to obsession. Do we really want a player in the NFL with such a background? I don't. Vick, Stallworth, Pac Man Jones (just to name a few) should all be banned from the NFL. PERIOD. Those kind of violent tendencies are past "mistake". Yes I said banned. Let them go work at McDonalds.
Yes he deserves a chance!! What is sad in this country is that Vick could have killed human beings and not get this kind of backlash as he is getting.......Some of ya'll people are too quick to judge!
He served his time and paid the price for his mistakes. I am a PETA supporter, and I think that the public light that Vick's crime shined on dogfighting, and on similar crimes, raised awareness about this issue and deterred it. Everyone who serves their time deserves a second chance.
Michael Vick has done a terrible thing. He has paid his dues. If he receives a valid second chance I think that he will realize the terrible mistake he made and not repeat it. I believe that the chance will make him a better man. Look at Michael Phelps. Though his mistake was not near as great as Vick's it cost him dearly.
I am a diehard Eagles fan -- but, for the next two years I will not be a follower. I cannot in my heart of hearts change the way I feel about Vick. This was an extremely poor decision to bring him to our beloved City of Philadelphia. The man is a brutal killer of dogs. I have to make a personal decision on this and to me winning is not everything - being a decent person is more important. Sundays used to be fun - Eagles organization, you have taken that away from a lot of decent people.
Send the money you would spend on football to a local dog shelter. Spend your Sundays there. Walk and love the abused and unwanted dogs spending time there.
MAN, I hope there are more people like you out there. They can all give up their tickets, their PSLs, and their spots on the waiting list.
I want to go to a game with REAL football fans, not some holier than thou vindictive people who think one person who fights animals is a monster while praising another who does it. In the stadium, football matters and little else.
What people forget to realize is that he didn't just fight dogs, he murdered them by drowning, electrocuting, hanging, and by throwing badly injured dogs into pits to be torn to shreds by other dogs. That isn't a football player, that is a psychopath. Serial Killers start out in similar fashion.
Another nail in the coffin of the NFL's integrity. The league doesn't care about image; it's all about winning. On top of that, Vick isn't a good quarterback anyway. He is a better runner than quarterback, but you can bet he's coming in with the idea that he's going to compete with McNabb for the starter's job. He's suited to play a "wildcat" option quarterback, but that is all. As a drop-back quarterback, he is sorely lacking. Another dumb quarterback that can't read defenses. Sorry, Eagles. I can't agree with your move.
What I think is odd is how Vick is much like Tony Soprano. Both are sociopaths. Tony had no conscience when it came to wacking someone. Likewise Vick had no conscience when killing a dog. All of you are complaining about how Vick should be removed from the NFL, punished again and again. Yet...I bet many of you loved to watch the Sopranos - AND LIKED TONY. Yes, the Sopranos was just a TV show. But your morals are not. If you don't like Vick, then why did you watch the show? Before you go mouthing off from your high horse, take a look in the mirror. There you will be standing there. You have to live with yourself.
All of you who say that Vick only is doing his part because of a judge or the money your right. But he is doing it and thats the Point!!! Like you who follow the law also because of reprecussions. Vick has paid what the law required and far beyond what was fair.

I guess that in due time Bernard Madoff will become Joe Banners assitant.
Time to turn in my Eagles Jersey!

I agree. He made a CONSCIOUS decision to do what he did...he wasn't duped or tricked into it.
Yes he deserves a chance!! What is sad in this country is that Vick could have killed human beings and not get this kind of backlash as he is getting.......Some of ya'll people are too quick to judge!
Bah I bet if we really looked into everyones past wed find that alot of you could have spent time behind bars for many things.
Besides that man the country has been raped and robbed by the bankers and con man and many people will be hurt and some will dir because of it.
Yet nothing is done to stop them or put them away.
You go VICK!! Show em all up!

P.S. I am a animal and pet lover.
Michael Vick is remorseful only because he got caught.....just like all criminals.
Comparing Phelps (with pot) to Vick is one of the most ridiculous arguments I've seen by the way.
