No, no-names write these articles. The leaders have names. I strongly dislike the use of the term no-names. Just because the favorites are not playing the way writers and journalists expect, doesn't lessen the impact of people who the writers know little about or don't pay much attention to. Each of them have names though and deserve recognition for doing what Tiger, Phil and others haven't been able to do so far.
It's really a shame that NBC is doing this great AMERICAN tourament. All they do is wet their pants over Tiger Woods. Give it a rest, he is 12 shots back. How about following the real stories. The guys that are actually performing well at the US OPEN. The No Names as they call them. The reason they are no names is because NBC doesn't know anyone but Tiger. But, i am sure even if Tiget doesn't make the cut NBC will find a way to fill up their civerage with the hows and whys of what happened to Tiger. This network needs to go away.
When will NBC stop torturing us by doting over Tiger? I want to watch professional golf, not one man set up, wince, scratch his head and drink a sip of water. Please, I beg you NBC, show and talk about the professional golfers. If they're good enough to gain entry to the US Open, don't dismiss them. I beg you, please stop torturing us now!
In the words of George Carlin: 'F--- Tiger Woods. I am tired of being told who to admire.' I work with a guy who watches golf all the damn time. He criticizes me because I watch soccer. Soccer is a game where grown men in short pants kick a ball around. Golf is about as close as watching nothing as you can get. I can appreciate that golf takes a lot of skill. That doesn't mean it's interesting to watch. I imagine watching Picasso painting Guernica or witnessing Shakespeare composing Romeo and Juliet would have been boring, too, but we can appreciate the final product.
It is really all about luck how the ball will react to the club face. I prefer to use John Daly's mentality "Grip it and Rip It," in dealing mud balls. But thats just me.
No question that Tiger Woods is a superb golfer -- HOWEVER, do we have to be force-fed "Tiger this, Tiger that" at every turn? Perhaps it would make more sense to give the "no-names" some recognition (maybe just occasionally)?!?!?!
Anyone else sick and tired of this Johnnie Miller/Tiger Man Love Fest. Tigers a great player...but when you miss a 10 ft putt its NOT A GREAT PUTT. Wish the ESPN announcers were doing the coverage. Miller makes me puke.
Miller also commented on choi's missed 2 footer calling it a good putt. Miller is a chump and if NBC doesn't realize how much he annoys everyone by all the comments on here then they are chumps too.
i enjoy watching golf and also playing the game. i get tirwed of hearing every other word tiger, lets see what tiger is doing, tiger is the only player that can make that shot. yes tiger is a good player but there are other players on the course. give all players equal time. how do you think thier families feel when thier love ones are playing and all they see is tiger and all they hear is tiger. tiger is 11 back today. yes maybe tomorrow he will be winning but today he is not. show what the leaders are doing and the players that are ahead of tiger.
Why does MSNBC continue to cover Tiger when he's clearly not a factor. I would think they'd be covering the US Open Golf Tournament...... NOT Tiger Woods. It's boring already. Cover the game!!
Tiger Woods..., "my score did not reflect how well I played". Translation, you sucked this week, have a huge ego, and people are sick of your attitude. Media, please give other players the respect they deserve, no more Tiger interviews this week as no one cares about the 42nd place loser in this open. Yes, that is my prediction.
How about some background stories of those in the lead? Let's hear about this for a change......
Tiger Woods is the most over hyped, over paid "athlete" on the planet. 85 Million/ year to play golf. Yes I understand most of that comes from endorsements. Golf is as boring as watching paint dry.

amen, and get rid of Johnny Miller. The weakest announcers in golf.
MSNBC...you plan on keeping Mickelson's "mug" on your front page all day? come arrrrn step it up....
Tiger Woods? Who is that? has been and has done. Go away and sleep well tonight. The time has come for a new generation.
By the way, Phil and Amy, I am still pulling for you! You are not has beens!
We can always hope this little creep comes in last.
