The Lakers will lose this series not only because they have shown their vunerability in the last series. They will lose because chauncey Billups has proven his a true leader and remember he led a Detroit Piston Team with less talent against a much more talented Laker team, with Shaq,Karl Malone, Gary Payton, Rick Fox, Robert "clutch" Horry, and a younger Kobe and Fisher, the only thing that might cost the nuggets the series is their "desire" thats what detroit had when Chauncey led them to the championship over the lakers in 04'
How'd that work out last night? Kobe shut down Billups and the only player who could get going was Melo. If this ends up being a Kobe/Melo matchup...Kobe will take it...along with his team to the finals.
In the mid seventy's, my company had a place next to a coliseum that we went to, on our way to Livermore Ca. Our company gave us ticket's to the game. My Republican' friends told me that the team was made up of drug dealers, Communist, Father raper's, a bunch of thieves and pot smoker's.
The Nugget's will win the series, because they have "soul". The team we went to go see was the "Oakland Raider's".........................that game is well know now, along with that "pot smoking" "Maden"...............
Hum? true Chauncey Billups is a born leader for sure! Especially with Detriot... I would like to see Chauncey and company win this series but I don't think that will happen, I think Kobe and his team will make some needed adjustments for this series and I'd look for LA vs Cleveland in the finals... Cleveland in 6 for the title that's my take -
I don't think Chauncey nor Kobe can be taken for granted. Seems like Kobe is picking his spots, he will probably take it ip a notch or two as situation warrants.
Chauney has Nuggets playing the right way. I like the Nuggets in 6 games
I think Denver honestly has the Team to beat LA this year. Although LA has Kobe, Denver is on a mission and is really playing great "TEAM" ball. Yes, LA has the homecourt advantage...and has beat them throughout the year...I still believe that it's the Team who's playing the best "ball" at Playoff Time. In my opinion...that's Denver. With a great bench to boot. Denver in 6 as well.
Lakers in 5. Game 1 was a game where the Lakers were not at their best. As we know, they are not consistent, and that game was their off game. They will have another off game in Denver, but that will be it. Lakers in 5.
Thursday's game will replace Tacos at Staples with Nuggets instead!
Jess Baby-I hate to inform you-but if you watched the game Kobe was not guarding Billups-he was on Melo-and will have to stay that way. Fisher/Farmar/Brown will be dominated by Billups in this series
Lakers got lucky in game one and even Kobe admits it. Denver takes game two and they won't lose in Denver. Lakers are lucky they dodged the SWEEP.
game 2 there was horrible calls, 2 to boot at the final seconds, JR smith in clear yet uncalled violation on the jump circle and it is visible as (kmart?) i believe, helped ariza to his way on the floor
Kobe has never beaten Chauncy in a playoff series. Carmelo has never lost a playoff series with a short haircut. So far after 2 games Carmelo is averaging 36.5/game, Kobe only 36. Kobe is shooting 48% for 2 games/ Carmelo 53%. Laker babies keep crying about the officials but more total fouls were called on the Nuggets in both games combined. Since George Karl has been the Nuggets coach, the NUGGETS have a BETTER regular season record than the Lakers. The Nuggets have won 16 straight home games. All signs are pointing to the Nuggets in 6.
regular season record has no say in playoff performance
ups and downs and hard battles, Lakers in 7
Gasol, Ariza, Odom, Bryant, if LA's bench can pull through a bit more they got this, Finals = Lakers vs ____
Lakers all the way...it may take 6, but they're good to go!!! Kobe, who was mentored by Michael Jordan, knows how to close it out.
This is not about Kobe vs. Billups or Anthony, this is about the Lakers vs. the Nuggets. The Nuggets dominated last night and should have won every game in this series but not for flukish things. Anytime you lose to a good team by one basket, or you can only win by one basket that should tell you something, and that is that the Nuggets are the better team and will prevail.

Depends...if Denver can maintain their composure, Nuggets in 7; if LA can keep their enormous egos in check, it'll be LA in 6.
