Manny Ramirez of the Los Angeles Dodgers was suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball for using peformance-enhancing drugs.
Everyone knew that Manny was a liar and now everyone knows Manny is a cheat.
Is there anyone out there who still loves Manny. If you do; please seek help from a professional.
#1 - Thu May 7, 2009 1:57 PM EDTThese players, including Manny, make so much money that it's worth the risk to them. They make millions and millions, so a couple hundred thousand loss is nothing.
I say expulsion. That's the only way to really enforce the issue. Otherwise, stop the silliness cause everyone is going to do it and take the risk.
I am a die hard red sox fan......have been for many years,,,before Manny and after.....I was so happy when Manny was traded...he was a problem/trouble looking to happen every single day..and by the way we got Jason Bay...a truly great sportsman.....baseball player......we gained everything and lost nothing.....I feel sad for Manny..he truly has talent...no sense of right and wrong at all.....and no love of team... I also believe the suspensions need to be for all players who get caught not just some of them .....can u say A Rod?
I think Manny have been doing this for years.Don't you think that is very strange that every team is baseball had at least one player in Mr.George Mitchell list except Boston?And also that the only name,out of one hundred and three,that was leaked to the press was Alex Rodriguez?What happened to the others one hundred and two?And what about Ortiz?He wasn't that great with the Twins.Last year he wasn't that good and this year,he is even worse.I guess the tests are more frecuent now.
I wish they would release the other 102 names. Manny's fib about the prescription from a doctor is totally BULL. Why didn't he consult his team doctor? He goes on to say he has been tested 15 times in the last 5 years tells me baseball needs to rethink its policy (Average three X a year is not enough) Most big leaguers know how not to get caught but it finally caught up with him. One other thing, why did it take him so long to sign with the Dodgers ?(2nd week in March) Did those other teams know something and the Dodgers gambled and signed him hoping he wouldn't be caught?

HCG is produced by pregnant women and binds to receptors in the brain to make it send a signal to the testes to produce more testosterone. It's used during a steroid cycle because natural testoerone production is supressed. Less knowledeable users also use it to recover after a cycle, but its effect is counterproductive because it also acts as a partial inhibitor of testosterone production. Either way, any prescription for HCG written for a male is considered off-label. Off-label uses are usually denied by insurance.
As if all that's not enough, even using the damn thing without any knowledge makes it almost impossible not to arouse suspicion. Why? Because it's a SUBCUTANEOUS INJECTION! Come on Manny, give us a break.

We expect our hitters to knock em out of the park and the whole game of baseball has changed dramatically since the 1900's. Who gives a damn if these guys are all takin enhancement drugs. I hate games that are one and two run games ---- they bore the crap out of everyone! This is why the NHL and the NBA are kicking ass in attendance. Do you REALLY want to watch games that were originated during the Babes time or even from the 50's ??? Get REAL people!

If all you want is fake baseball entertainment at any cost, than go watch some hollywood baseball movies or buy a baseball video games and make up your own stuff. Give me as fair a game without steroids. No more cheaters breaking records and screwing up true baseball history. Man, how can these guys sleep at night or look each other in the eye?

If 50 games is all they could do, which I don't believe is the case, then so be it. But, he should have been suspended for life. That is going to be the only way they can clean up all sports.

There are so many bad actors in them it's absurd - wife/girfriend beaters, drug users, gun packers, steroid users, ad infinitum. Yeah, they're not all bad. But there's enough bad apples that my view of pro sports is indelibly colored on the side of it being a lousy investment of my dollars.

They need to be as sure as you can get when dealing with life-time bans.

They keep suspend those " little kids" for being caught not for using drugs. Drug and alcohol abuse among athelete in USA is getting out of hands.The public need to stop all kinds of support for the professional athletes who uses drugs even once. Watch those athlete millionairs and we will win the war on drugs.

Yes and A-Rod and Clemens too....and i'm a long time Yankee fan. He will lose approx. 1/4 of his 25 million salary. Plus of course i believe he shouldn't ever be considered for the HALL OF FAME. She great talent he had.....but how much of it came from DRUG use?

Just think squeaky clean baseball has at least 100 + players who admitted using drugs, and how many more that lied about it. Why is no one complaining that they were't named. No , lets only go after the those guys making all the money. Fans and sports writters are jeolous of the money they make. It's all that crooked Commisioner's fault for looking the other way years ago when this was known by owners and GM's alike. To say lets take a secret test to see howwide spread it is, then allow the names to be released. Why did they need the names in the first place? Don't trust any body.
