Who CARES!!!! President Obama should be more concerned about the economy and AIG and their freaking bonus money that they just handed out. President please in these times please get your priorties in order.

When you have a minute, Mr President, please send a bailout check to me for 10 million dollars tax free to get through this economic trouble that you have caused and presented to me a tax payer.

I just KNEW this type of comment would be posted. Come on, no-one works 24-7, give the man a break!

Just how did he cause this "economic trouble"? My, my, how short our memories are. By the way, did you notice that the economy you're talking about is at last showing some signs of stabilizing? (Fingers crossed, toes crossed, eyes crossed.) Or did you think that this mess would be cleaned up overnight?

Kaizaro - Well how quickly you seem to forget - yes Obama did promise to clean up overnight. And yes he did promise to work 24 - 7 - so NO he does not get a break.

thturd - yes blood would be nice - but that will not pay the bills. I am not little since the end of the election. You must be though to think that everything is fine and dandy. I just said that President Obama needs to focus on what is important. And Basketball is not one of them. My tax payer money, my 401k, my health insurance, etc. is more important than some basketball tournament.

Obama was elected to take care of the American tax payer, first and foremost.

      You stop whining.

Donna grow up and get over it, President Obama DID NOT create this mess. If you are a victim , well you should of woke up a few years earlier.

I take it your one of the many that cared not when others were losing their jobs but NOW that you have been included everyone should care.

As DEMJ said it is called multi-tasking something this country isn't used to being implemented for quite some time now. One minute Mr. Obama isn't doing enough, the next he's doing too much.

It's not going to turn around over night, again why wait till it's too late till you get involved?

Go stick your head back into the sand and when the new order gets everything back up and running properly we'll give you a call.

        Tip-off in an hour

Donna: I seem to recall Obama saying that it was going to be a long, hard road back to economic stability. He NEVER promised that the economy would turn around overnight. For you to expect for it to do so means believing in the mythical magic wand Bush talked about not having when all this started. As far as Obama messing around a little when it comes to this BBall thing: Did you complain as Bush took 1/3 of his presidency off to play on his ranch while the economy was in free fall, terrorists plotted attacks on this country, and he sent our kids off to TWO wars, one of which was a war of his choice? My guess is that you did NOT. Get a grip already!

A garden is something the white house should have (if it is a veggie garden all the better). Make home gardens an important part of the social commentary as they are a valuable asset. Heck, neighborhoods across the country are getting into neighborhood gardening which brings about a renewed sense of civic pride, provides needed food for hungry and struggling familes, and just plain gets people to feel good about something.

The President's family is doing a good thing, imho, by leading by example in this regard.

I feel that it is inappropriate for our US President to be making a choice publicly as to who he wants to win the March Madness tournaments. He needs to be a president and stop being such a celebrity! This is due to the amount of publicity that the media gives him for "non-events". Dude, put the same amount of effort into balancing the budget!

“The problem with Oklahoma, they have the player of the year, but they play like, seven guys,” Obama said. “I think you start getting worn down.” Obama

How about this quote; "The problem with America, sure we are the world's super power, but we spend like, trillions more than we collect in tax revenue every year. I think the country would start getting worn down." JJ

And really, the money AIG is paying in bonuses pails in comparison to the money wasted in Washington every year. Let's get outraged about that, it would have a better net result for us as Tax Payers.

It's cool Obama kept a promise to ESPN though, maybe there is still hope.

note: Obama filled out his bracket fairly quickly... Do you really want him to put the same amount of effort in balancing our budget?? I thought we gave up the Bush Jr. method of budgeting since the last election.

It's funny how ignorant some of you are. Our government has been operating on an unbalanced budget for many, many, many years. It didnt start with Bush Jr. And it won't end until we the tax paying voters get outraged enough that we start demanding a government who operates within budget of tax revenue collected, and keep voting out thos who don't hear us.

It's amazing how the left and right nuts on here can turn every comment into a partisan attack.

Really. Especially considering he picked (nearly) a straight line of favorites across the board. And a lot of people thought Memphis should have been a 1 seed anyway. Now if he had some crazy, complex bracket with a whole bunch of Bill James style metrics backing it up, I might be concerned.

                                                    trm2008,

Bush? Who is that? Why are so many people living in the past? Can someone here change the past? What has Bush got to do with Obama? If Bush did something wrong it's okay for Obama to do the same thing? Is that what you are saying?

Hello! Let's try to stay in the present! I give a squat about Bush! He's gone! If you want to complain and whine about the past...GO AHEAD! I am far more concerned about THE FUTURE! I guess you idiots would rather live in the past!

                                                        Dear trm2008,

What repub are you referring to? Not me. I am an American. I don't vote by party, I vote by good conscience and good choice. You are a divider. I served to protect this country and keep it united. You bring up divisions. You think that a pretty-faced celebrity will make a good president. Wrong. He needs to quit all the attention-seeking and attempt to lead. (Even if he is unable to I think he should TRY!)

Pay attention to the CURRENT PROBLEMS! (If you can.)

Funny how I haven't met very many Republicans on the vine. Makes me wonder. Thanks for your service, but that doesn't make your opinion more important than anyone else's. If it makes you happy, bash your president. And by the way, the PRESENT problems are in part attributable to Bush. I bring up divisions, but you can bash Obama all day and thats alright. LMAO What a hypocrite.

                                                        Dear trm2008,

I would like to see Obama actually working hard at his ELECTED job!

He is currently nothing more than a product to be marketed and made money on.

Okay, let's try it YOUR WAY! BUSH IS TO BLAME! BUSH IS TO BLAME! BUSH IS TO BLAME!

There, I said it three times, clicked my heels together, and wished the problems were fixed. Anything happen? Maybe if YOU do it then it will work.

Just because someone can "multi-task" doesn't mean they should spend any time F-ing off while so many suffer. Remember that, when a doctor is seeing someone you love that is in serious need of attention, but takes time to take a call, or otherwise delay your loved one's needs. It's "multi-tasking". Whoopity-do!

How much time has our "president" wasted appearing on the Tonight Show, or other pointless events? How much time wasted, in your opinion, is acceptable during a crisis such as this?

This is a joke listening to you whiners about the President not working 24/7 to fix everyones problems. He can't fix all your problems so stop wishing he could and admit reality; if you want your problems fixed you need to get off your ass and fix them yourself.

I'll tell you what boog a loo, next time you take a lunch break how about you hold yourself to a higher standard and forgo eating and just get back to work. Screw dinner and the bathroom too - you don't need to do that stuff, just get an IV and a bed pan and get your ass back to work.

Don't sleep more than 4 hours either so you can keep being self-rightous in your indignation that the President isn't working 24 hours a day to solve everyones problems.

All this whining that the President spent a little time hyping some basketball is a joke. You have unreasonable and inhuman expectations of people and you really need to think about what you're saying becuase, right now, it just sounds foolish.

                                                        Dear finalcut,

That little punk in the white house is the joke. He's a celebrity, not a president. Basketball? Didn't you hear or at least watch the news? What about the TONIGHT SHOW? Ever heard of it? You know, the one with Jay Leno? Just a little trip, extra security, make-up time, shake hands with a few people, then show his pretty face on national TV for a little personal attention-getting. I AM TALKING ABOUT OBAMA! Is this how YOU envision someone working to help people? How were you schooled?

Right now I am supporting a young couple who would be out on the streets if I wasn't paying their rent each month. They have no jobs and are on food stamps, oh, and she's pregnant! I do this on my meager military retirement and disability check, and what little work I am able to do. This amounts to less than $35,000 per year. Take $7,500 (minimum) that I pay to help them and others and I am living on $27,500 minus taxes etc.

Do you support anyone? Are YOU keeping anyone from the streets with YOUR PERSONAL MONEY? DO YOU GIVE 20% OF YOUR INCOME TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE?

If that little S H I T at the top can't work harder, then put me the F U C K up there!

I'm glad you are able, and willing, to help that couple out - kudos to you. Am I supporting anyone right now? Just my family thanks for asking. Though, if supporting a secondary family is the litmus test for being a contributing member of society in your book I think the vast majority of people, well everyone on this thread but you, is failing miserably.

I hope you aren't spending too much time on Newsvine becuase that's a waste of time that you could be using working an extra job so you could support another family and continue to feel superior to everyone else. I can't believe you aren't out helping rebuild houses instead of commenting here; I mean, until you are willing to work non stop and not do anything non work related I can't really take your crticisim of some public appearances by the President seriously.

More than likely if he wasn't making public appearances you'd be right there @!$%#ing about how it doesn't seem like he is doing anything because we never hear from him.

But if I'm judging your unfairly I encourage you to start preparing your presidential campaign now; I know I'd vote for somoene who could miraculously work 21 hours a day saving the world with never a break. Just make sure you cut our deficit and our taxes by 50% in the first half year of your first term would you..

If getting you to run for president is out of the question then how about you stop posting on these mindless articles about basketball and instead start coming up with viable and we researched answers to the economies problems. I'd like to start seeing a good briefing here on the vine each day from you about how, realisticly, the government could do their job. I don't mind if, after further research you change your mind on certain tactics - that is to be expected. But please don't waste any more of your invaluable time talking about Obama and Basketball; your mind is more wisely used solving our problems.

                                                          Dear finalcut,

Very few would want me for president. Mainly because the sacrifices needed by all of us to pull this thing out is something so few are willing to make. NOBODY seems to want taxes raised, for one, but that is one small thing that could be used to help those that really need it.

I sent Obama several ideas but have heard nothing. Hard to say if anyone has the guts to do what may be necessary. I have offered up my ideas, however.

Maybe you didn't catch the part where I get disability. Neck disc damage, back disc damage, knee replacement (both) in the future, sleep apnea, chronic depression (burying children, etc.), heart problems, etc. I am doing more than my share. It puts a strain on me as it is.

I am tired of hearing excuses from people about why more isn't being done. It just bothers me to see someone relaxing while so many suffer.

                                                          As I said before:

Tell anyone who lost their job,

                                                          .....tell any starving child,

                                                          .....tell anyone losing their home,

.....tell anyone who lost their life savings in this crisis

THAT IT'S OKAY FOR THE PRESIDENT TO HAVE FUN INSTEAD OF WORKING EVERY SECOND TO HELP THEM!

Until people making excuses for Obama have the "BALLS" to do this then maybe they shouldn't post at all. Cowardice is a terrible thing to flaunt.

In case none of you heard there are very real discussions going on about Obama having a mental condition called NARCISSISM.

                                                          1. Excessive love or admiration of oneself. See Synonyms at .

Since Carolina is Obama's "team", will they be required to redistribute their points to the lesser team. Say UNC's up by 10 with 1 minute to go, do they have to give the opponent 8 or 9 points in the spirit of fairness.
