Michael Vick has a long way back until he's playing for an NFL team, but when he does return, do you want him on your team?
Vick is just want the elder Mora said he was - "a coach killer". He is exciting because of his "unpredictability". He is only unpredictable to poor teams. When he plays good teams he cannot win. He engenders unrealistic expectations from owners and fans. That is why he "kills" coaches.
I would be very surprised if any NFL team signs Vick. With eveything else going on with the economy, I doubt any team would want to face demonstrations and boycotts that are sure to arise. Owners and coaches really dont need that!
As a long time fan of profootball, I think Vick should never be allowed back into the NFL. He is missing the gene that tells decent human beings right from wrong. The dogs he killed and maimed don't get a second chance. His cruelty, violence and arrogance is part of his very being. Please don't reward him with a multi-million dollar contract. Give a new guy a chance.
ChicagoGman sums it up... his only regret was getting caught. Any team he ends up on will be "the wrong team".
Michael Vick should NEVER be allowed to play football again. Everytime I see his face I think of all the dogs he tortured and abused. If it was up to me he would not be getting out of prison.
He forfeited the right to play sports and make a fortune when he tortured (death by hanging?!) and killed those animals. If "my team" signs him, they had better be ready for protests. There's never been any sign that he's truly remorseful (in fact, I'm still not sure he knows what he did was wrong).
I will be on the picket line if he's on a team that comes to this city to play. And if, god forbid, our team take him-I'll send our season tickets back in shreds to the home office. And will do whatever I can to encourage others to do the same. That man is disgusting. I have two rescue dogs that exude love and gratitude. That man deserves no second change.
Whoops - no "second CHANCE!" Bad edit on my part!
Everyone deserves a second chance, who do you people think you are to judge this man you never met never ever will get a chance to talk to yet you feel you are so important that you have the unalienable right to stand on a pedestal and judge. Let ye be judged the same as you have judged others, wow you all are pitiful go to church learn yo be thankful stop worrying about season tickets and tearing them up how petty is our society becoming wow unbelievable............
tru-947341. First of all, you might want to try to use punctuation and capital letters when you are posting. At least you might be somewhat comprehensible if you do. Second, are you not judging everyone who has an opinion about Vick when you say ridiculous things like "who do you people think you are" and "wow you are pitiful"? You do just as much passing of judgment of others in your post as others do in theirs. You don't have to meet people or talk to people in order to have an opinion of them (as you have proven by posting your opinion of others who have posted on here who you have never met). People on here have formed their opinion of Michael Vick based on what he has done. That is how people form opinions. And can you please explain to me how this guy's expression of protest by ripping up and sending back his season tickets is petty? Please? Explain? How is that petty? He is making a statement that he does not want to support a team that hires a guy who tortures defenseless animals. I would think that such a feeling is much more in line with what a person would learn "in church" than are the things that Michael Vick pled guilty to. And, also, more so than your accusations that people are petty for disagreeing with Michael Vick's actions. Maybe you are the one who ought to spend some more time in church learning about things. I am not saying I agree or disagree with any of the opinions stated on here, I just hate when some idiot gets on here and tells people to go to church and then exhibits a completely un-church-like demeanor. Wow. Unbelievable.
Concur, have always followed the Falcons and never liked him as a QB from the start. Wingback, slot receiver maybe, but as a QB he couldn't get the job done.
For those that said yes. What the hell is wrong with you? He tortured, and murdered dogs - hanging them to death, or burning them alive. What reason could there possibly be to let an wretched animal like Vic back into society, let alone give him the privilege (yes, it is a privilege, not a right) to play football in the NFL, making millions of dollars and being a hero to countless American children. What kind of message does that send? Think beyond the natural talents of a man (and I use that word loosely) for change, and think about that man's actions. The only thing that Vic is truly sorry about is that he got caught and that he lost millions of dollars. I would be willing to bet that he will wager on dog fights again, if not be directly involved with dog fighting.
Some team will sign Vick because either way love him or hate his guts he will sell tickets and he is an amazing athlete. Lucky for him the NFL is a stern but forgiving organization. He served his time which was more than anyone else would have suffered for the same acts because he destroyed his career and reputation on a global level as well. He has been punished. I'll admit I don't care much for dogs, I think a 29 yar old should have a chance to put his life back together. He is very young and you have to believe that people can change for the better. PETA get over it find another ring to bust up.
He did the crime, he did the time. He needs to be left alone so that he can continue with his life. Animal fighting is accepted in some cultures...cock fighting south of the border for example. I personnally find it horrible but he paid the price. I believe that he has had a long enough time to deal and learn from this. I hope Michael does come back and that PETA get off his tail.
I agree with T. Wilson, he should never be allowed to return and each time I see his face, I will only be reminded what he did to those innocent animals who never had a chance at a good life like he did. He had a chance and he blew it.
I will also be one of those on the picket lines if he should decide to disgrace our city with his presence.
He should be banned from football forever, he is a murdering scumbag and that is his good points. KD
I will boycott, along with many others, any team Vick plays for. You don't have to highly educated to know what is right and what is wrong...which fits Vick on just talent no smarts. NO SECOND CHANCE.
Marley, sounds like your dogs are more forgiving than you? Your dogs got a 2nd chance, why not Vick?
If a dog would do to a human what Vick had them do to each other that dog would be PTS and not get a second chance. Since Vick is still breathing I would think that should be considered his second chance.
Bud, my rednose pit told me that he doesn't want Vick to play anymore football until he has a chance to talk to him about all his uncles and cousins he lost.
Vick is a psychopathic piece of scum.......he never once apologized for what he did to those animals...why?...because he is not sorry! anyone that is involved in animal fighting is a worthless pile of sh*t! Let them rot..............
Come off it..... Some of the dogs were beaten and strangled by his hands because they did not, "Perform well."
If those same standards were used by the NFL for him then I say let him play!
If it were up to me he would never get a chance at the life he once had, millionaire super star, because of the way he treated those pits. Honestly i would like to have 15 minutes with him tied to his "rape" stand he used on the females and a cattle prod. But i also feel PETA does not deserve anything from Vick, they wanted to have all of those dogs destroyed, said they were beyond saving. Check out the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary @ and read about these wonderful dogs and how they were saved. Also lets not forget he lied to his boss and said he had nothing to do with the dog fighting ring. Yes others have been accused of beating their partners, using drugs and other illegal actions in the past and nothing was done, i believe they should not be paid to play a kids game either. Sooner or later someone has to be the "first".
He shouldn't, but he will get back in. That is one of the reasons I have absolutely no respect for any of the professional atheletes. They break the law and are one step away from low-life criminals--in some cases, they already are--but they seem to be forgiven, even when they do not deserve it--and get back in to game and make millions. I have totally lost my respect for any of the sports and the hoods that play the games.
It would be wrong to take him back into the NFL making millions and millions of dollars. Not saying that folks shouldn't be forgiven or get a second chance BUT his expertise in football would be better served by helping/serving those in high school or college -
Why would you waste your time picketing a football game Vick is playing at? He got caught, he's not going to do it again. YOU GOT HIM GOOD JOB NOW GO FIND THE NEXT VICK. Couldn't your time be better spent somewhere else? Go volunteer somewhere, do something worth while foster care for a homeless dog or something. If vick truly doesn't care about what he did why would he care about what a bunch of crazy dog lovers screaming outside a football stadium think anyway?

Vick is nothing but a murderer. Murderer's belong in jail for life.
