BK's players get an education,that is the purpose of college!

i would not want him coaching my schools team, the man is unstable, he is a has been. who needs a coach that throws chairs, and whatever else he can get his hands on. absolutely not.

Not only do I support his return to NCAA ball but I would allow my children to play for him. Players play by their abilities AND they get a college education. It's not all about going Pro and the almighty dollar. It's about learning responsibility and ownership. I miss the General.

ANYBODY who understands college basketball would certainly want Bobby Knight as their coach. Any father who has a son that's capable of playing Div. 1 basketball should also feel blessed to have BK coach their kid. If the kid is any good, BK will make him better. If the kid is not "Pro-Material", like the vast majority of Div. 1 players, he'll get an education. Of course, on the other hand, you're a father with a kid, that only YOU believe is pro material but in reality ISEN'T, than BK probably isn't for your kid; let him go to a place that will turn him out after 4 years to flip burgers at burger King.

Come on the guy lied about choking a kid at practice. He is done. His type is old school when you could slap a kid around, thats not the way it is anymore. Put your hands on my kid, I'll be coming after you. He's Done.

I know his record of getting there education under his leadership but its still no excuss to treat any human the way he feels he has a right too. Not now, not 25 years ago.

You morons complaining about a little discipline are a joke. Bob Knight is the best coach ever. He won more games with kids who were less talented than any other coach. A lesser coach wouldn't have done anything at Texas Tech. Quit being babies and admit that Knight is a great coach and that you are just too soft/pampered to play in his system. Georgia or any other team would be lucky to have him on their staff. ESPN is glad he is there and probably hopes he stays.

Bob Knight understands the fundamentals of basketball and can take an average team to great heights. There is nothing wrong with his style if you believe in disipline and balance in basketball as well as LIFE!! I wish he was back coaching at INDIANA.

He produces great men....just ask Quin Buckner, Coach K and Michael Jordan. Ask any of the three guys mentioned and see if he didn't have an impact on their lives. I would love him to coach my boys. Not only would they have a chance to become great players, but great leaders also. Kids today need a good kick in the a$$. Most today are lazy. impolite, and think they are above punishment. You go Coach!!!!

Why not, since he left Indiana, look at their record. Young adults need discipline in every aspect. Media, parents and those "Knight" haters should take a backseat and realize the discipline that Knight's players carried on and off the court. The man loves the game. His antics do not and will not please everyone, unless the Hoosiers capture the crown and thereafter, the sports world is hanging on Knight's underwear band. It is comments like this that indicate what our country is becoming. A bunch of conservative soccer mom types where scores are not kept, everyone is a winner, and everyone's kid is more special than anyone elses.Coach Knight is a winner. I would love for my son to play for him. So what if he is tough. This world is tough. We are breeding failure because we are not preparing them for the real world.

Yeah yeah, I know a lot of you think all kids should be all americans without having to work for it.

It's too much work for most of you to discipline your children, so you downgrade any one, that is willing to work.

He has on of the highest graduating rates for players on any coach in the country, all of his players were the best ball players they were capable of being and they all learned you have give your best effort, in anything you do.

I probably should mention, he is one of best two or three college basketball players in history.

Ken Davis extolls the virtuous coach "K" as never doing what Knight did to his Texas Tech team. He needs to do some research. Some 10 or 12 years or ago, Coach K walked out on his team with what he claimed were "back problems". The team went on to a terrible year due to a lack of good recruits. Whose fault was that? The word around the Tarheel state was that he saw the bad year coming, walked out, left it with his assistant, & refused to allow the record to go against his won-loss totals. The assistant, was promptly fired at the end of the miserable season. Coach K got his penchant for bad language on the bench and his "I'll quit whenever it's convenient for me" attitude from his mentor & old coach. None other than Bobby Knight.

You stupid fat never played sports in your life, and you have no idea what it's like to do anything except try to make fun of somebody. In this case, you're waaay out of your league lard @ss. Coach Knight is the best, PERIOD. And none of your drivel will ever, ever change that fact

You Knight fans are dillusional! Talk about morons. This guy is a jerk and always has been. As one of the smart poster's pointed out that, physical abuse to you players is wrong. We don't need to see Knight's face ever again. If he ever laid a hand on any of my relatives, or threw a chair or anything else this idiot felt like throwing, he would be sued BIG TIME. Being abusive is not required to be a good coach and not a requirement to have a disciplined team. Sooner or later with Bob Knight as your coach you will experience the abusive side and I would not wish that on anyone.

BK is many things and he has not always been correct in how he has handled things, but the good far outweighs the bad. More than just being one of the better collegiate coaches ever, he provides many things that his players can take with them and use for the rest of their lives...The people who write articles like this only wish they could be respected the way those that played for BK respect him, and for far more than the W/L record.

The guy who wrote this is entitled to his opinion like anyone else is, but it certainly does not mean he is correct. He should ask BK's former players and those who have worked with him about BK, and whether or not the conclusions he has reached have any merit. The print media in particular has never been a fan of BK's, some of which is actually warranted, but this guy is just another writer who thinks it's cool to hop on that let's bash BK bandwagon because he's never been the most politically correct guy in the world.

What does that have to do with anything regarding his coaching ability? How does it impact much of anything that would have to do with running a college basketball program? Ask yourself what the writer knows about anything that goes into what it is that BK does in terms of achievement, discipline, fundamentals, higher education...??? BK is what he is. He's not always right, but I think it's safe to go ahead and assume he knows more about how to run a college basketball program than the guy who wrote this article.

The worst thing Indiana ever did was get rid of him. Look at us now... Davis: great guy, horrible for IU. Sampson: Horrible guy, forrible for IU, he left us with a wreck. Crean: only time will tell, but I have faith. Point being, Bob Knight was a GREAT coach and personally a very, very nice guy. Regardless of the anger and such, I want him back. They should at least name the court after him haha.
