HOLMES' RIGHT FOOT NEVER TOUCHED! The photo on the SI.com front page clearly shows that Santonio Holmes' right foot is obstructed from the field by his left foot. There was one replay shot down the sideline that clearly showed that his right foot never made contact until after his hand contacted the ground out of bounds! The officiating was lousy against the Cardinals all game long. The face mask call was especially egregious! There was no grab and there was no head turn associated with it. Nonetheless, except for Warner's boneheaded interception at the end of the first half, none of this woulda mattered. Take a knee Kurt, run a sneak, take a sack and you're in the HOF.

All I hear is a bunch of whining Cardinal fans who are making excuses for their team's loss. The only thing the Cardinals had to do was play defense for 2 minutes and they didn't. Don't blame the officials or the Steelers, blame your defense.

This Harrison is a punk along with the rest of his team members. I have never seen so many cheap, gutless hits by ANY team in the NFL. No review? No ejection? Refs were definitely Squealer fans. Can't Pittsburg win anything that isn't questionable? If Whitwork and Henderson were ejected in Cincinnati because Henderson tried to take out Whit's eyeballs AND fined (along with the team for trying to break it up) PLEASE tell me why Harrison wasn't out of that stadium immediately? I'll tell you...it's Pittsburgh and they can get away with it.

I watched football with my father from the time I could set up on my own. It was our time together. I was a Cleveland Brown's fan until Jim Brown retired. One thing I learned from my father was the best way to repect your team's effort on the field was not to blame a win or loss on one play or on the referees. He said this because referees are not God-they make mistakes and when you look at a game as a whole- there are dozens of little things that could have turned the tied.

I watched every Super Bowl, from back when we didn't have replays or reviews until this last one. It was the best Super Bowl in years. I really hope that your son's or daughters do not read your comments here and that you are not saying these things infront of them. Saying someone cheated when your team loses does not make you a fan. Appreciating a good game in which both teams played hard makes you a true fan. Congratulations to both teams. I don't know how many more Super Bowls I will live to see, but I sure enjoyed this one!

I thought both teams played a great game. Right to the end I wasn't sure who would prevail and that makes for an exciting game to watch. It's possible that some calls were bad or missed but I would imagine that even with several refs on the field it's hard to see everything. I didn't see deliberate bias on the part of the refs as both teams were penalized, one of which even resulted in the loss of a touchdown. I did see a lot of testosterone between both teams. I would imagine all that adrenaline and endorphins is bound to cause a little battle of wills on the field here and there. I did believe that Harrison's behavior was unsportsmanlike and, as a Steeler's fan, I was disappointed. That behavior really did diminish that great 100 yard dash.

I'm amused that after every superbowl, someone always claims the refs were paid off or that their calls were biased or that the "other team" cheated. I don't want the Steelers, the Cardinals, or the Refs telling me how to manage my office so I believe I'll keep my mouth shut when it comes to telling them how to play, coach, or officiate football.

I will say that both teams played a great game and if the Cardinals had won, I'd have to congratulate them because right up until the end, it looked like they very well might run away with that trophy. I think they proved that they have the stuff to make it back into a Superbowl and I'd be willing to bet that none of the other teams is quick to misjudge that they are a contender after this game. I hope to see them back next year, along with the Steelers, of course.

there is not a single left tackle in the league that can block harrison one on one....Gandy only had 3 holding calls. If you want to count every hold that was not flagged against Gandy, the Cards would have had 200 penalty yards minimum

Gang...I am 60 years old...seen ALL the Super Bowls and watched countless football games. The game was a thriller in the 4th...I thought that the Cards had done it...But I gotta give it to Big Ben...great comeback...Congrats to the Steelers....

However, I have to side with some of the criticisms concerning "calls" and "NO calls"...Most of the calls were legit...However, James Harrison's "muggin" was a horrible and classless act...a few years back, there was a player who stomped another player in the NFL...where is he now? Not to mention the dismissal of Vicks' brother for the same kind of behavior in College. James should have been ejected...many of you are saying the Steelers won the game, as is obvious in the score...that is true....so the same thing can be said for Brother James....his act that he committed is in the same reference... he was obvious in his act of disgraceful professionalism... It was a blatant act and it was wrong not to have ejected him!

And, my God!...I must ask..."What exactly is "clipping"? I thought I knew! Did everybody see the clip that occurred in front of the 100 yd return? Please don't me that was not a clip? You are a prejudiced idiot if you say that! I have no earthly idea WHY that was NOT called? If there is someone out there who can explain why it was NOT called (other than it was not a clip), please respond and let (at least; me) know what the heck that was.

Finally, I remember the Oakland - Pats game that ended on Oakland getting screwed out of a game ending fumble in New England...The call made then is exactly opposite of the one made last night...I will tell you one thing...if that was NOT a fumble in New England, then most certainly this was NOT a fumble in Tampa...I challenge any of you (regardless of team loyalty) to LOOK at these three instances that ALTERED the outcome of the game...

I must also agree that the coverage of the game was a disgraceful and pathetic attempt at Sports journalism! I am quite sure that all you Steeler fans are going to say that I am just a poor loser, but I do not nor did not favor either team. I have my team and they were NOT there. So, I just wanted to watch a good Super Bowl. What I got was a poorly covered, poorly officiated , and a wanton disregard for fan enjoyment and a sense of fairness in this years' rendition of the final game....

The "incomplete pass" at the end of the game is a non-event. The real question is why was Warner in the pocket so long trying to find a receiver downfield in the first place? The reason was his passing options in the end zone or to the sidelines were so obvious the Steelers defenders had Fitzgerald et al completely smothered. His only option was a pass in the middle that wouldn't have made it to the sidelines or the endzone, meaning time would have expired. Bottom line, the Cards had a brilliant Q4 but simply had run out of time.

holmes' catch (yes, it was a catch . . . there are photos out there that clearly show both feet touching the ground with him in possession, even if you couldn't definitively tell on tv) was reviewed. i'm sure the warner fumble was also reviewed, even if nbc didn't show the ref under the hood or making the announcement.

speaking of incomplete catches and blown calls, how about fitzgerald's first td when he had the ball trapped against his body without control and the entire front half of the ball touched the ground? i can't believe tomlin didn't challenge that.

This game was great being played by the players and the strategy provided by each coaching staff. As a future referee for our beloved NFL I must say that....tisk tisk....this was a poorly officiated game, we as up and coming officials are held at a high standard and are often warned against putting the outcome of the game on a tiny yellow cloth or having the outcome decided by a bunch of weird calls. This game was weird, now there is no way and i mean no way that anyone can say that the cardinals would have won the game all I am saying is that let the players PLAY THE GAME THAT WE KNOW AND LOVE!!! You're right. It was the last play. The only play left was a hail-mary into the end zone. That was an incomplete pass just like the Rothle.. touchdown that was called back (very very close)

Football was fun before instant replay and all of those thousands of TV cameras. Two announcers is plenty and three is too many. Whenever the camera is on the officials instead of the players, you know that the game is in trouble. When I was umping baseball,I was told the the ump should never be a part of the game. The way that football is designed to be played there could be a holding penalty on every play.This game is brutal and should not be compared to Tennis.

I recorded the game, watched it 10 times......almost every play your pitiful Cards were holding either James Harrison or Lamar Woodley and there were no calls on 90% of them. You people who complain about the officiating are pathetic at best. I was watching the NFL replay a couple of days ago...the head of officiating (Rivera) for the NFL states on a voiceover while the last snap is FUMBLED that the play WAS, in fact, reviewed by the person in the booth and was deemed a fumble. There was no need at that point to send it back down to the field as it was conclusively reviewed without having to confer with the refs. That being said, the holding penalty in the end zone resulting in the safety was questionable at best and you don't hear Steeler fans whining about it. Have you heard us whining about the fact that Harrison was perpetually held repeatedly all year despite putting up the defensive performance that he did this season (if you don't believe it go ahead and watch a replay of the SB...Harrison is obviously held many more times than was called)? Besides, if your Cardinals got so JAMMED by the refs like you say, why didn't you guys just score enough points that you would have won the damn game despite the poor calls?!?! Every time the Steelers win someone is inevitably going to b!tch about the refs...poor losers...grow up for Pete sake!
