Arizona Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt spent six seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an assistant coach, the last three as the Steelers' offensive coordinator.
How important will Ken Whisenhunt's experience as a Steelers assistant coach be as the Cardinals prepare for the Super Bowl?

The defense which is what he should know best from memory can just scare the pants off him. Hopefully the effect of him knowing the team is negligible. In any case, his knowledge of the team will make it a game, at best. If the offense is clicking in Pittsburgh and the defense has an average day, the Steelers will be the first team with 6 Superbowl trophies.
That's what the Eagles and the Panthers thought and the Eagles destroyed the Steelers during the season.
There's no doubt that "Whis" knows more about the Steelers than other NFL coaches aside from their AFC North foes. However, Mike Tomlin and the master defensive guru Dick LeBeau know what he knows about their defensive schemes and are also familiar with his offensive schemes. And nobody makes adjustments like the wily LeBeau thanks to his fifty years as a player and coach. He's a living legend. And that is what Whis has to worry about the most.
If the #1 Steeler defense takes measure of his offense early, his upstart defense will be in for a long day of trying to stop the ball control efficiency of Big Ben and his cohorts. Keeping Kurt, Fitz and the potent Cards air attack on the bench is what will make the Steelers the first NFL team to win six Lombardi trophies. Having twenty players that were on the roster when we won #5 compared to the few Cards with Super Bowl experience also will help.
Go Black & Gold!!!
George... could not have said it better.
whiz may know the B&G, but Card fans might fear what he thinks he knows vs the reality of what the B&G know about him and his "O"thinking. D wins games. Hearts of D's win games. Steel city boys know and will thwart all of the mind and heart of whiz. Make room for Lombardi trophy #6 !!!!!
Coach W and all his staff don't depend of what they "knew" but what they know now! They will have some unpleasant surprises for the Steelers. GO CARDS
wait, steeler fans your really going for 5 earned superbowls, the MVP for the steelers/seatle
superbowl was the officals not ward. Lets all be honest here, the city of detroit was not going to let the Bus Jeroim Bettis leave town with out a ring , they were afraid of a riot breaking out. oh yeah Mike Holghram your A sissy for letting the NFL keep you quite after that win was flagged away. I hope the cards win the same way the steelers were given the ONE FOR THE THUMB. GO ZEBRAS
i think it gives the cardinals a big advantage, having played the steelers last year, plus knowing lebeaus defensive tendencies, with 6 coaches from the steelers and i think 5 players from the steelers on the cardinals will help with in-game adjustment and flim study. it helped gruden and the bucs in '03 against the raiders. i doubt if the steelers will try to change what got them to the ultimate game, if they do it usually backfires, trying to learn a new wrinkle in two weeks. i think the steelers will say hi here is what we do best now stop it, if the cardinals stop it they win. now i see the cardinals putting a few wrinkles to offset what the steelers may have seen last year or in film from this season. with an experience qb in warner and the coaching staff knowing lebeaus tendencies and also knowing big ben's tendencies, the advantage goes to the cardinals. close game i see cardinals 33 steelers 24.
The Cardinals will win this game by 10 or more points. I have been a Cardinal Fan for all of my life. In St. Louis and Phoenix. I really dosen't matter who knows what about the other team. These are professional players who know what their jobs are on the field. I believe it's the Cardinals turn and they have the heart and desire to win. Go Cardinals. Make me proud.
